"I have placed before you an open door..."

Happy New Year! As the New Year starts I am very aware of the huge opportunities God has given St G's to impact our city. Pick up Our Vision 2014 booklet which is a guide to help you in deciding where God wants you to join in.

When you see all that we are involved with you will see the need for some serious prayer! For, as the Bible says;

‘Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.’ Psalm 127:1

There are two great opportunities to pray for this month: 16 January is our termly Day of Prayer and Fasting and 17 January is Leeds’ 24hr prayer event. Please pick up a leaflet from church, and join in the prayer either by coming to one of the meetings at church, by praying on your own or with friends, or by joining in with the 24hr prayer event at Trinity Church, Boar Lane.

I am praying that the Lord will give us a stronger sense of being family; that we will help newcomers make real connections and our Networks become place where anyone can belong.

Come and pray for God to bless the mission of His church in Leeds and cause His people to shine, lighting up the whole city, making the love of Jesus known and drawing people to Him.

Unity in our city is one of the areas where God has called us to be active, to take a lead. I have been meeting with a group of representative leaders and organising prayer meetings for the last 18 months, and I believe we are beginning to see a breakthrough. In 2014 we are beginning a pattern of 24 hours of continuous prayer once a term, which is open to anyone, including times for families and children.

Praise God for these developments! Our Father is calling, not just St G's, but His whole church, to be a blessing to our city; and that begins with prayer.
