Nov/13: Mission Partners

Chip and Diane Cowles, Daniella and Gabriella

Chip and Diane are currently working in Sandyford, Newcastle on an exciting project reaching out to the local neighbourhood.  They are still working with Agape Ministries, but are having a break from overseas work in order to gain experience of church planting.

Details of some of their projects can be found here http://www.barneyandjudes.org.uk/

Pray for a new initiative called 'The Connection’, a Sunday evening worship service, aimed at students and young professionals in the community; for a month of fundraising to raise £5,000 for roof repairs; that they would listen to those around them, have grace for every situation and trust God for resources to serve those who they are listening to.

On a personal front they give thanks for Daniella’s outstanding achievements in GCSE examinations and ask us to pray for her health. Daniella has lung damage (Bronchiectisis) following pneumonia. Please pray for healing and patience for Daniella and the whole family as they come to terms with this diagnosis.

Sarah and Toma

Sarah and Toma were married in St George’s in June and have since started new jobs overseas.  Sarah is teaching and Toma works for an NGO.

We give thanks that they are both enjoying their work and that they recently had the opportunity for a short break in Boston.  Sarah asks us to pray for her to have patience and calmness in the classroom; she has a ‘tough, tough’ class, but is enjoying the challenge.

Security is a very serious problem, so please pray for their protection.  Recently a westerner was killed in one of the places Sarah frequents.  Now they are unable to walk about freely because of the risk of kidnap or worse. Sarah writes:

“We trust in Him.  We ask His angels to guard our car and make it invisible to the enemy as we travel.  We ask for His strong hand to guide us and show us the safe places and routes.  We really depend on Him.”

Please pray too that there will be joy in this their first year of married life, even as their lives are restricted to home, the workplace and the supermarket.
