Great commitment from St George’s walkers on our March walk as we enjoyed the climb out of Pateley Bridge past the Llama farm and up to Brimham rocks. Those who had taken a look at the weather and wished for a duvet day were keeping quiet and held onto the ‘there’s no such thing as bad weather just inappropriate clothing’ adage. However I think most would say it was an exhilarating walk with the snow at Brimham bringing a Narnia like quality and we were particularly thankful to the National Trust staff at the Visitor’s centre who allowed us to picnic inside. This probably saved the walk! Having warmed up and dried out a little we tackled the rather muddy descent with renewed enthusiasm through picturesque hamlets and along the banks of the Nidd to an excellent tea shop where the Victoria Sponge was spectacular!
