فارسی We Iranians, about 35 in number, get together on Wednesdays in St George’s to worship Jesus Christ in our mother tongue. We ask Him to return peace and tranquillity to our country and to our people, who want peace, and we ask Him to bless us.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

The main purpose of the network is to strengthen and nurture believers, especially new believers, and to make known the good news of the Gospel the Lord’s saving love to all Iranians and Farsi-speakers.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19)

Meetings begin by welcoming members, and with the Lord’s Prayer. We confess our sins, and we join together in singing joyful worship songs, praying and reading the Bible. We then have a sermon and sometimes at the end of our meeting we eat dinner together.

In December we had a special Christmas outreach service. It was wonderful that many guests came and that many members were able to serve in ways such as, setting up, doing readings from the Bible, playing music (including the Iranian drum called the tombak), cooking food and with the children involved in a drama. A professional santoor player played during times of prayer, which was beautiful and moving.
