Ruth runs the international student ministry as well as supporting the team at Spacious Places.
What is the toughest thing you have had to do within the past year? I think the toughest thing I have done this year is come face to face with who I am, warts and all. Through the internship I have become a lot more aware of my strengths, but I have also become a lot more aware of my weaknesses.
Where have you seen God work? I have seen God draw international students to himself, and bring healing, restoration and reconciliation in the lives of addicts. I have also seen God work in myself as I have grown more in the past 18 months than I could ever have imagined.
What are you most looking forward to after the internship? I'm looking forward to using the skills and knowledge I have developed through the internship to serve God, both in whatever job I (hopefully!) manage to get, and in my personal life. I feel so much more equipped for work and life through doing the internship.
"Doing the internship has been a huge privilege. It has challenged me professionally, emotionally and spiritually, and there have been highs and lows, but it's been an incredible experience and I've grown so much."
