We think walking is a great way to share life and get to know one another better, whilst enjoying the beauty on our doorstep in the Yorkshire Dales. We would love to welcome you to the group – especially if you’re new to St George’s.
We often walk in the Yorkshire Dales or Moors with a starting point under an hour’s drive from Leeds - though in the summer months we may go a little further afield. Our programme is available to download on this page, providing details of our walks this year. We usually start walking at 10am and finish before 5pm, covering about 15-18km. Whatever else, we guarantee we’ll be walking through some of the best countryside in Britain!

It’s often proved difficult for men to find meaningful community in churches. At St George’s we tend to connect through our vibrant Networks and a wide variety of different ministries and opportunities to serve. However there are moments when it is helpful to get together as men to encourage and spur one another on in our pursuit of godliness.
Sometimes our gatherings take the form of BBQs, Q&A with guest speakers or pub trips. On other occasions we host New Wine Men’s Days, travel together to conferences and maybe even go oversees on mission.

The St George’s Women’s Ministry meets across 4 Saturday afternoon tea events a year, where a member of the congregation tells their story of faith. These gatherings provide the opportunity to meet new people from different Networks and services within St George’s.
We also have a women's football group and a couple of daytime women's groups which take place every few weeks.
This year we are hoping that God will draw us closer together as a community of women, that we may encourage each other in our journey of faith: celebrating God at work in one another and helping those who come to get connected to the wider church.
6 May & 8 July | 2pm - 4pm | Church Community Room
Come along to hear and celebrate stories of God at work in the lives of women in our church.
These gatherings are a great chance to meet new people in a relaxed environment and grow closer to one another as we share stories of God at work.

Play and Pray
Tuesdays, 10am - 11:30am (term time), St George's Centre
Play and Pray is our mid-week group for babies, pre-schoolers and their carers. There is plenty of space for play, crafts, singing and a Bible Story time. There's also plenty of opportunity for the grown ups to enjoy quality coffee, cakes and time and space to chat and connect with others.
On the first Tuesday of the month, we have our "Messy Play" sessions. It's always a good idea to wear old clothes and to bring a complete change of clothes too. We've had lots of fun with sand and paint and water and soil and even breakfast-cereal farm-yards over the last few months!
Play and Pray... and STAY
Following Play and Pray, 12pm - 1pm, Church
The Stay group meets fortnightly, straight after Play and Pray to worship, read the Bible together and pray for each other and encourage each other. Everyone welcome to join us - even just to try it out. Creche available for toddlers, babies tend to stay with mummies. We multi-task and eat lunch at the same time too!! Its all pretty relaxed.
Bumps and Babies
Mondays, 1pm - 2:30pm, Meanwood
We're forming a new group for pregnant Mums and very little ones (pre-walkers) on Monday afternoons, in Meanwood. A chance to meet for a cup of tea and a chat with other Mums. All welcome. Do be in touch for more details on this group.
