We love to gather as a whole church and Sundays are a focal part of life at St George’s. Our Gatherings help us to connect as a diverse yet united family to worship, listen to God’s word and pray.
For full details about current and future gatherings, including upcoming sermon series and services, view the latest term programme below.
6.30pm | Sundays | St George's Church
In the evening on a Sunday we gather to celebrate the Christian message, invite friends and encounter God. All are welcome but we particularly want to see young adults reconnecting with God. If you’re a student, you are very welcome to this gathering and can meet others for Student Teas at 5.30pm in the St George’s Centre. Every term we also have a Network celebration to celebrate what God has been doing in our Networks and Small Groups.
Our Church Prayer Gatherings
7.30 - 9.15pm | Last Tuesday of the Month | St George's Centre
At the end of every month we take time as a church family to pray for our church and our city. These gatherings are usually a mixture of worship and prayer, often praying in groups.
We celebrate Holy Communion (or the Lord’s supper, breaking of bread, mass) at least once a month at both services, welcoming to the Lord’s table all who are baptised and trusting in Christ.
Children are also welcome to receive the bread and wine, provided that they are baptised and understand that Jesus died for them personally. It is up to parents to work out, with their children, if they are ready to receive the bread (it is illegal to give children under 5 alcoholic wine). We pray a prayer of blessing over all those (adults and children) who come forward, but do not wish to receive the bread and wine.
